Green Ethics
You can have what ever paper you want, that's your prerogative. However we will always try and offer you the most environmentally friendly options that suit your needs.
RECYCLING - All waste that can be recycled is recycled. Simple.
PAPER - If using recycled paper is something that is of key importance to you, let me know. I mainly use papers made from virgin pulp, sourced from forests where trees are replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally. However I have access to paper ranges that are wholly or partly manufactured from post consumer waste (PCW). Product specifications and recycled content of stock is available on request.
CHLORINE - Another key issue is the bleaching of pulp. Nearly all the papers I use are made from virgin fibre and are either classified as Elemental Chlorine-Free (ECF) or Totally Chlorine-Free (TCF), which means the bleaching process avoids the use of harmful Chlorine or avoids the use of Chlorine altogether.
SUPPLIERS - We source and purchase from within the UK when possible. This sometimes means having to pay more for stock, however we feel it is important to support and promote local business and the UK economy.
PAPER DATE always looks out for the the following logos on the products and suppliers we use and any other businesses we work with...
FSC: The Forest Stewardship Council is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests.
The Rainforest Alliance: Forestry businesses that comply with the rigorous standards of the FSC may use the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal. This mark identifies a legitimately sustainable product, service or business that is acting responsibly.
EU Ecolabel: These guys propose policies and legislation that protect natural habitats, keep air and water clean, ensure proper waste disposal, improve knowledge about toxic chemicals and help businesses protect, preserve and improve Europe's environment.
PEFC: The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification works throughout the entire forest supply chain to promote good practice in the forest and to ensure that timber and non-timber forest products are produced with respect for the highest ecological, social and ethical standards.
So by purchasing from PAPER DATE you can feel confident that you are not contributing to the destruction of the world’s forests!!
